History
Rhode Island Urban Business Incubator, Inc. (RIUBI), D/B/A Urban Ventures (UV), was founded in January 1999 as part of the urban economic development agenda for the state of Rhode Island. The organization hired an Executive Director in November 1999 and welcomed its first businesses in January 2000.

Since its inception, UV has assisted approximately 100 ME & MB and provided service assistance ranging from Micro Business Boot-camps to Incubators, Micro Business coaching to offering Temporal Boards of Directors and/or Advisers services. UV has been an important ME & MB centre for urban entrepreneurs, who are building new and creative companies, retaining jobs and creating wealth in the state.
